THIS WEEK'S PROGRAM   07 January 2009

With high-definition TV, everything looks bigger and wider.  Kind of like going to your 25th High School reunion.

CONGRATULATIONS to our Sertoman of the Year, CHILDS MARTIN!  Service to Mankind winner was Scott Yielding.  Both awards were presented at the Christmas Banquet December 18th.

Willie Elizandro made arrangements to have an article published regarding our Award winners.  Rick Scott also forwarded the entries to Sertoma International for consideration of awards at the regional level.

Next Soccer Tournament is January 31st and February 1st.  Willie will be circulating a sign-up sheet for volunteers.  Please consider when you might be able to help.

Rick purchased some Sertoma aprons for use in projects other than Soccer.  Not only did they look good in the bright yellow and 'Sertoma blue' they were on sale!

Tomye Modlin, R. N. at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System, and who works in the area of Mental Health/education, was today's speaker (added bonus—she is also Marsha Opauski'sister!).  Ms. Modlin described several specific programs geared to address issues relevant to special Veteran populations.  Those included the Suicide Prevention Program, the Homeless Veterans Program, and the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program.  Her presentation generated much discussion and she was gracious to answer our many questions.

SEE YOU ALL NEXT WEEK!
